Mission & Philosophy
Meeting House follows a play based approach to learning in a nurturing and safe environment for young children, ages 2 months to 5 years. Each child’s individual interests are considered so that they are active participants in their own developmental journey.
Our experienced teachers creat strong family partnerships and make meaningful connections with each child in their care. They observe and develop curriculum that utilizes the environment to encourage exploration, promote social emotional well being and strong problem solving skills.
We also have developed our program where the classrooms can mature during the course of the year, enabling the children to progress as a group rather then just switching rooms and teachers mid-year based solely on their birthday.
Program
The atmosphere in all five classrooms is warm, calm and stimulating. Daily schedules are designed in each of the rooms to meet the individual needs of each child. Children this age need some unstructured time to explore, small group experiences and bits of structured activities for variety. All caretaking activities need plenty of time, so children are not rushed during the eating, sleeping, and diapering/toileting parts of the day. We have created classroom communities that promote positive relationships, where children make friends and participate in a curriculum that supports all areas of development. Children remain in the same classroom for their contracted year (Sept – Aug.), and transition with their classmates each September
Our Program is licensed for children ages 2 months to 5 years by the Massachusetts Dept. of Early Care and Education.
